Refunds in relocation are different from refunds in online shopping. When someone books a move with Greatway Cargo and Movers, preparation begins much earlier than most people realise.
Vehicles may be reserved. Manpower may be scheduled. Packing material may be arranged. Because of that, refund situations depend largely on timing.
If a customer decides to cancel well in advance, before any real preparation has started, refunds are generally easier to process. At that stage, very little operational work may have happened. In such cases, a larger portion of the paid amount can usually be returned.
But timing makes a difference.
Delay in cancellation may incur charges based on:
- packing material may already be purchased
- labour may have been assigned
- transport may have been scheduled
- route planning may have been completed
If packing has already started or a vehicle has reached the pickup location, a full refund is not possible. By that point, service execution has begun. Resources have been used, and time has been allocated.
Sometimes plans change because of emergencies. When customers inform us early and clearly, we try to handle the matter. Communication always helps. Silence makes adjustment difficult.
Rescheduling the move instead of cancelling may be more practical. Date changes are considered based on availability and may involve adjustments, but they often reduce financial loss for both sides.

When a refund is approved, it is processed through the original payment method wherever possible. Processing time may depend on banking systems or payment gateways. While we initiate refunds promptly after approval, bank timelines may vary.
